About the Studio
Small team. Real games.
Coreffect Interactive was founded in 2020 as an indie game studio based in Montreal, Canada. The company was federally incorporated on January 18, 2024 under the Canada Business Corporations Act, operating as a non-distributing corporation.
We focus on innovative strategy games for PC — from colony sims set in ancient Rome to modern reimaginings of classic board games. Our approach is small-team, high-craft: work directly on the game, iterate fast, and ship things players actually want to play.
We make strategy games that reward thinking — not clicking.

Our Approach
Four things we believe in.
Coreffect is a small studio with strong opinions about game design. These are the things that guide every project.
01
Systems Over Spectacle
We build deep, interlocking systems that reward mastery — not flashy visuals with nothing underneath.
02
Replayability
Strategy games should be played hundreds of times. We design for emergent play, not scripted campaigns.
03
Direct Development
Small team, direct decisions. We ship when it's ready — and we stay close to our community through every build.
04
Historical Respect
When we set a game in the past, we do the research. Real history is stranger and richer than fiction.
